What is SCP [REDACTED] and what was my role in its creation?

SCP [REDACTED] is an interactive text narrative based on the world of SCPs (Secure, contain, and protect). You play as a convict with a scientific background that has been chosen to participate in various SCP encounters. You will need to make the correct choices in order to survive the dangerous creatures and figure out what is really going on.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Used C# to create the logic behind the multiple choice mechanic.

  • Designed each branching pathway and implemented them.

  • Implemented voice acting for each character in the game.

  • Designed and wrote each dialogue.

  • Extensively researched the SCP database to find suitable creatures that would make a compelling narrative.

Why make SCP [REDACTED]?

To enhance my portfolio I decided to join the Rising Star competition. Through that SCP [REDACTED] was born, a result of my passion for the SCP universe merged with my love for narrative heavy games.

Video Showcase

S.C.P. [REDACTED] was made in unity during the personal project unit in my last year of university. It has a total of 6 unique encounters that follow a story with more than 12 endings and 600 different text screens. I designed and created the story from scratch using various monsters from the SCP universe as inspiration. A playable version of S.C.P. [REDACTED] is available to download below.

Dissertation

SCP [REDACTED] was also the focal research point for my dissertation, which researched the importance of how a good narrative can always be used in most games to improve its quality and its audience attachment towards the franchise.
